six learning strategies

Yana Weinstein and Megan Smith are two girls, who create a website with six learning strategies: The Learning Scientist. They made the website for helping people who having trouble with learning. Yana started tweeting students at Washington University to help them with studying. Later she asked Megan to collaborate and their collaboration became popular. They made a blog and later they create the website with the best six learning strategies. The six learning strategies are: spaced practice, retrieval practice, elaboration, interleaving, concrete examples and dual coding. Retrieval practice is my favourite. With retrieval practice you put your books away and write everything down what you know and then you check it. That is my favourite because you’ve got a survey about everything you know and what you have to practice more. That helps me better than a planning because by a planning you make a estimation and by retrieval practice are you sure about what you have to do. When I used retrieval practice I mostly use dual coding. With dual coding you combine words and visuals. I like that because than it is easier to remember things. When I use retrieval practice and dual coding I get a better mark than when I only read the text and the notes.
